With Christmas just around the corner, I like to keep reminding myself that it's not about how many presents you have under the tree, but the gift of life given to us by the birth of Jesus Christ, himself. Bringing me back to realizing that some of the best toys are the simple household things, like our Laundry tub which Evi finds much more amusing than any of his other toys, I can't imagine a bigger smile on his face! Of course, with time (and age) brings new wants and gifts during this Season, but we're ensuring an upbringing of giving more than receiving and what Christmas is all about, and at this early in age, I think there's no better place to begin other than during Christmas time. Our house rule this year is no more than three gifts each for one another.

Witnessed something surprising this evening. Little Evi, so wound up with bubbly laughter started playing peek-a-boo with me. I thought I'd be crafty and sneak from behind him, only to discover he can rotate in 360 degrees! Moving from one side to the other, rolling from North to South, he's getting away with sharp moves which are appealing to a break dancer!

Just when I almost forgot about taking Evi's photo for the day, I thought I'd snap one of him in bed with hope I'd get a cute photo of his lovely long lashes, eyes shut and woozily off to sleep. However, I find him smiling directly at me as I pulled back the covers and gazed at his big smile! Such a creepy but wholesome moment. (Not the best photo, as I was rushed but hilarious to one day look back on and remember.)

Evi got to meet his cousin for the very first time over Thanksgiving. Big eyes of wonderment, these two were all dressed up ready to celebrate the festive weekend. It was such a joy to spend our Thanksgiving with family. Though a hectic traffic congestion, we made it to our destination with nothing but smiles on our faces and happiness in our hearts.

I had only turned my eyes for a little over a minute to hear a murmur come from you playing on the floor with your toys. Somehow within the space of pretty much a minute you had gone from lying flat on your back to being trapped with your Boppy on top of you! What I would have given to have seen you make your move so fast to this position! You are the ultimate explorer now, showing off your skills of crawling, sit-ups and rolling around. I have a feeling we'll need to baby-proof very soon if not right now.

I know, you can't always be smiling. Today I finally caught a photo of you off-guard, crying! You are hardly ever caught crying on camera, as soon as you see a camera you pretend you didn't even start. But I finally have a crying photo of you! Your reason for crying was unknown until I picked you up from out of your Bumbo after trying you in a few other positions with toys and tummy time. All you wanted was to be held which is usually the case these days, and I love every minute I get to soothe your tears with a simple cuddle and kiss.

Evi, you will soon be 6 months old. A half year will have passed and we have watched you evolve through many stages. I am excited to say, you have travelled and visited over 14 states in the US already, have been to Australia in my belly once and have said what I classify as your first word: Muuuuuuum! We are so lucky to have you Baby Panda. And every day more and more, you look more like your Daddy Panda.

Oh my Son, a long day calls for a long sleep tonight. Those wondrous eyes, catching me snap this photo before bedtime. He's a charmer this one, snuggled up to his quilt I had made him before his birth while being wrapped in his poker-dot knit. I hope he treasures these little spouts of sentiment such as his quilt. Alas, my baby oh baby, he will always be.
